Learning Support

We aim to support all students with difficulties or disabilities and we will make every effort to ensure your time at College is the best it can be.

Support for all

We believe in an inclusive environment whereby all students are taught in mainstream classes but are offered additional support where appropriate to their needs, so they can work to the best of their ability when they come to College.

We welcome applications from students from all learning abilities and aim to make your transition from school to College as smooth as possible. Our Learning Support Team is made up of specialist Learning Support Tutors and Facilitators, who have a positive and proactive working relationship with all staff across the College. Our services include a Learning Support Centre fully equipped with specialist facilities for students including computer software programmes along with access to surface tablets which are available on loan. Individual exam arrangements can also be made for students where appropriate, dependent on identified need, evidence and application to the exam board.

When applying to the College, we encourage students to be completely open about any learning support needs and to supply as much information as possible. This will ensure that we can respond to your individual needs in the best way. Learning Support is here to help students with learning difficulties and disabilities realise their individual potential whilst studying at the College and progress on to employment or Higher Education.

It is legal requirement for us to develop and maintain a Local Offer of services for children and young people with special educational needs. Our Local Offer Information provides information about what additional support KGV College can offer to students.

Personal Support

Students are at the centre of what we offer at KGV and our aim is to create a nurturing environment where every student thrives and reaches their potential. We have staff available for any individual who may need support and care during their time with us.

Financial Support

At KGV we have a range of financial support packages designed to help meet a range of cost associated with studying. The KGV Scholarships exist to recognize our most high achieving students during their time with us and are offered to prospective students who have applied to KGV and have the potential to achieve great things with us.

Whatever path you choose to take, our approachable and friendly staff have expertise in writing UCAS personal statements, CVs, cover letters and job applications and can provide you with professional and impartial advice to help guide you towards a successful career in your chosen field.
