This two year, practical course in popular music performance will not only provide you with a level 3 qualification equivalent to one A Level, but also arm you with the experience and skills you need to pursue a performance related career in the music industry. You will study music theory, solo and ensemble performance as well as gain skills and knowledge directed to gaining employment and working within the music industry.  

The college has brand new facilities allowing students to record performances in professional surroundings, including a fully equipped recording studio, mixing suite, rehearsal rooms and computer suite. You will be expected to produce work to an extremely high standard as well as performing at college concerts and showcases throughout the course. You will be taught by specialists with a wealth of experience in the fields of music, performance and music technology.


You will study topics such as solo performance, ensemble performance, music theory and music business to give you the best opportunity to succeed as a musician in the music industry in a variety of fields.


There are a wide range of university courses available to those who complete this course successfully, both at HND and Degree levels; these include courses in Music Performance, Music Composition, Music Technology, Multi Media, Business (Music), Performing Arts and other related subjects at universities such as LIPA (Liverpool Institution for Performing Arts), Huddersfield University and ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music).
