KING GEORGE V COLLEGE - STUDENT COACH SERVICE - CURRENTLY OPERATED BY MAGHULL COACHES

ROUTES FROM - BOOTLE, CROSBY, MAGHULL, PARBOLD, PENWORTHAM & TARLETON

Covering – Ainsdale, Hillside, Birkdale, Crossens, Marshside, Churchtown and Southport

The College Coach provision was introduced several years ago to provide an exclusive, safe and efficient transportation service for students to and from College. The service has expanded over the years and we are currently operating coaches for students living in South Sefton, Sefton, Lancashire and West Lancashire areas. The service is heavily subsidised by the College, with a small contribution being met by parents/students. The service has been operating very successfully for many years and the College enjoys a good relationship with the transport provider which is currently Maghull Coaches.

The service runs Monday to Friday every week. The current pick-up and drop off locations and times are detailed in route booklets, with individual pick-up points being clearly identified on route maps. The routes are agreed annually between the College and Maghull Coaches, and alternative pick-up points can be negotiated each year depending on student demand and preferences. Flexibility on these coaches is paramount, if the college day has a late start or early finish, the timing of the coaches is rescheduled as appropriate.

The cost for students in academic year 2009/10 will be as follows:
  • £160.00 per annum
  • £60.00 per term
  • £5.00 per week
  • £1.00 each way payable on the bus
A reduced rate of £30 per annum is currently in operation for the Bootle route only.

Annual and Termly payments must be paid in full by cash, cheque or credit/debit card on enrolment or by Friday 28th August 2009. Weekly passes can be purchased from the Finance Department. Please note - if you decide to use the KGV coach service you may not need to apply for the annual Sefton bus pass!

Students failing to show their bus pass will be charged at the rate of £1.00 each way. Annual and termly passes are strictly non-refundable.
