The Merry Students of English! - 02/07/2012
KGV English students enjoyed an afternoon of Shakespeare at Haigh Hall in Wigan. Braving the elements, students and staff watched an entertaining and energetic performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor and discovered that all the world’s a stage in the picturesque setting of Haigh Hall’s Walled Garden. Shakespeare’s comedy follows Sir John Falstaff and his attempts to woo the ladies of Windsor, with plenty of mischief along the way. The performance involved audience participation and students were eager to join in with the good cheer. Despite the brief spell of rain during the final act, all was well that ended well and a great afternoon was had by all!
