Good luck Sharmeen! - 21/05/2012
Good luck Sharmeen! KGV student Sharmeen Uddin beat thousands of students to win a place in the final eight in Teach First’s national ‘What Would You Change’ competition. Teach First works in partnership to ensure that no child’s educational success is limited by their socio-economic background. As part of their 10th Anniversary year, they launched this competition asking students to suggest changes that could be made to the education system in the UK to give students the best opportunities. Sharmeen proposed that registration time should be used more productively to encourage students to develop public speaking and transferable team working skills that would benefit them in the workplace. Teach First received entries from 36 universities, countless schools and colleges and thousands of students and pupils. Everyone at KGV would like to congratulate Sharmeen on getting down to the final eight and wish her good luck in the final stages of the competition!
