KGV Film and Media Oscars celebrates student Superheroes! - 10/05/2012
KGV’s Film and Media Department held its annual Oscars award on Thursday 11th May. The event showcases the very best examples of students work undertaken in the academic year 2011-2012. Derian House, a children’s hospice charity based in Chorley, supported the event with their awarding of an ‘Outstanding Achievement’ trophy which was given to A2 Media student Lauren Tierney for her outstanding contribution to the department. As part of the event, Derian Houses’s mascot, Molly the Dog, joined proceedings in the interval and guests participated in a ‘Name the Dog’ raffle. The winning film entries from AS Media, AS Film, A2 Film and the BTEC courses were shown and the college’s Principal, Adele Wills, praised the exceptionally high quality of work produced by the studios. The Film and Media department would like to congratulate all winners and thank all of our students for an excellent year’s work!
