Our Football Development Centre is an innovative and dynamic partnership between KGV College, Southport and our Haig Avenue near neighbours, Southport FC. Now in its 9th year the programme is designed to enable KGV College students with footballing talent to continue their education on an Advanced Programme, whilst training for a possible future career in football as a player, coach, physio or more!

In order to join the Development Centre you must:

• Qualify for an Advanced Programme at KGV; so, in order to guarantee a place you will have to get:
  • 4 GCSE B Grades for a full A Level course
  • 5 GCSE C Grades for a BTEC National course

However, we will consider students with lower grades, especially if there are special circumstances.

• Convince Southport FC in Football trials, in August, that you have the ability and attitude to be successful and compliment the current squad

Once in the Football Development Centre you will have to maintain satisfactory attendance and progress in your College courses, and continue to satisfy your football coaches.
