
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a program of self development which is nationally recognised and highly valued by employers and universities. It is a chance for you to get involved, make a difference, make friends for life and have loads of fun!
The award is split into 4-5 sections: Volunteering, to make a difference within your community, it’s about choosing to give time to do something useful without getting paid. Physical, to achieve greater physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle through sport. Skills, to develop a new practical skill as well as develop social skills. Expedition, to develop initiative and a spirit of adventure and discovery, by planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey as part of a team. Residential (Gold only), to take part in an activity away from home for 5 days and 4 nights, joining people you have never met before.
