BTEC Music Tech students’ charity album smashes all records!
BTEC Music Technology students raised a fantastic £946.04 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust through the sales of their charity album. The album, featuring all original compositions performed and produced by the students, is the culmination of weeks of hard work and hard selling by the students! The album was launched with a band night held at the college in February.

Macmillan Coffee Morning
Friday 28th September 2012 saw KGV College take part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event. Staff and students baked cakes and biscuits which were sold in the staff room and link areas all day. As well as holding a coffee morning, students also participated in a tombola and raffle with a host of great prizes including Pizza Hut, McDonalds and Starbucks vouchers and a sealed auction with bids for a sensational Giant Cup Cake donated by Mellors. This is the sixth year that KGV has supported this event and the college raised £509.53 bringing the grand total to £4,300 for this worthwhile charity.

Debra – Halloween Fun Day
On Wednesday 31st October the student direct organised a Halloween fancy dress day and attended lessons dress as ghosts, ghouls and monsters, to name but a few. The student link common area was decorated in cobwebs, bats, spiders and pumpkins to give the day a spooky feel. Students raised £100 for the Debra charity.

Children in Need
Staff and students at KGV College showed their support for Children in Need by raising £552.90 with a host of events ranging from nail painting to Pudsey visiting individual subjects for photo opportunities and cuddles. The highlight of the day’s event saw the members of the college’s senior leadership team get a soaking in the stocks.
