Charity Events
Charity Event
Charity is very important at KGV and the academic year 2008-2009 saw a whole host of charity events take place - everything from cake sales to sumo wrestling. The college turned red for a massive day of events for Red Nose Day 09 and students undertook a host of activities including sponsored hair dying, giant games day and fancy dress competitions.

Students Alex Montague and Dan Hooton organised a Red Nose Day Acoustic unplugged session for the colleges’ musicians. This event was well attended and the audience were impressed by the range and abilities of the guitarists and vocalists. Students were impressed to see a number of teachers take to the stage for the event.

The college raised over £2,000 for Comic Relief which will go to support worthy causes both at home and abroad.

The Student Council organised a college Battle of the Bands which saw six college bands compete for the right to perform at the college prom. Praise Gerald took first place in the contest impressing the audience with their excellent musicianship and natural rapport with the enthusiastic audience. The band also won the opportunity to appear as special guests on Martin Hovden’s Live Sounds on Dune FM.
